Sunday Blues...

Sunday, a day after having a long hauls' work. And I'm still tired after spending most of my day off at home sleeping.

Heck, NO. I wasn't sleeping after all...

I was at home though, but I was in front of the TV, playing Metal Gear again after a very long time of being kept in the shelf. Solid Snake is now back in action! One, two, three.. a couple of hours have passed & I didn't notice it go by. Talk about NO FUN being at home. Or I was just acting bored and got nothing to do at all. Heh.

ZIIIIIP! And I'm again staring blankly as I fight myself to be awake.

What a way to end the month!

What makes a Good Story?

Literature gives order to human experience.
Literature explores cultural values.
Literature demands an emotional response from the reader.
Like a great journey, literature can show you things you have never seen before and will never forget.

And you can get to have the best time to find the world if you fill your heart with LOVE.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:" Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

New Word for the Day

hoodwink (verb)
------ to deceive or trick someone

A word, when spoken, is nice to hear but then the meaning carries NEGATIVITY
with it.

I encountered the word the second time again today. First, when I was reading my new book (Chapter 2, Spinners' End, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and next was when I was browsing the net, looking for things I can read and ponder on, and that was when I knew that one of the few better lyricists in the band scene has formed a new band names PUPIL after his stint with a band which was using a name much similar to his original band that has been a big hit here in the Philippines. With the new band is a very promising project on an animated film to be released soon, with the title HOODWINKED. Now I'm looking forward to watch that --- especially that it has more filipinos cartoonists working on this CGI Film that is being financed by
foreigners.Now who got hoodwinked...

================================================================================
Post Script: Just got to finish reading the book after a week(Got too busy to finish it in just one sitting, yes it's true) and I might say I'm quite disappointed with its outcome thru all the twists & surprises (although I was also expecting some of them a few books earlier)that it had yet I am also excited with what's to happen on book seven.

As for the band, we're still to find out what's cooking....

Mindless Thought

"Sleepy Time"

Dreams are drifting inside my head.
My coffee cup full of my favorite brew, burning my lip as I sip some of it. Coffee, battling Mr. Sandman unrelentlessly... Fighting and yet fruitless.

Golden slumbers fill my eyes.

I need my bed...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
post script: this was a former post I had on a certain forum
and at that time I was very sleepy indeed. Seems like DEJA VU today, Even after getting 5 hours of sleep.

Another round coming up!

NOW, pt.1

My friend called up last Tuesday saying that he's coming over to see his brother and to hang out for a couple of days as well. Kind of his own way of rewarding himself after tedious months of review for the examination that he took. Fortunately, my friend passed the exam. Good for him. Finally his plans are starting to get into shape.

Me? At first I was just glad that he passed. I mean, I know what he went thru just to be where he has now. So, what I did was took a day off work so we can go out and have fun with some of our friends. Geesh, I just got a big reality check that I have been so busy with work that my life seemed to be so dull & boring. I was always pre-occupied with work that I had no time for myself & other people already. But last weekend, that had changed.

So two great but utterly surreal days went by...

Although we had quite a lot of fun, it really seemed that time went by very, very fast. Funny how things go by fast, most especially for times like this. My friend even said "funny how I was so excited two-three months ago to have all this done and over with. Now, I feel like I want some more time here to spend with you guys & my family." Boy, was he melodramatic. But inspite of that, I was quite apathetic to the fact that he was already on his way out of the country. I was just glad he's done it.

But now, after all the fun has gone by... something just got thru & sinked in to my senses...

There are things to be done. Something that I have taken forgranted for sometime, that I need to attend to.

And that needs to be done NOW.

Confused

intel pentium 4 2.8 ghz or AMD Athlon 64 FX Processor
asus P4GE MX intel chipset
40 gb HDD
256 mb DDR (what if I'll have a 512, price difference?)
128 mb ATI Radeon or GeforceFX 5200 Video Card --- Price Difference?
floppy drive
CDWR/R
17" AOC/Samsung Syncmaster
AVR
printer (HP 300 Series)
keyboard
mouse (Optical?)

I am still in a blur of too much confusion on what I should have for my preferred specs. WHY? Tight Budget maybe.
This plan has been in the works for a couple of months now. But if only I have lots of dough to bank roll this PC I plan to have, I'll be getting the unit right away. Now, i'm talking about money again. It's making me feel bad coz I don't have any, rather NO MONEY for extra stuff such as this.

I sure hope I could turn stuff around so I can have a little more incentive to add for this little project of mine, heh.

Anyone willing to contribute? =)

Wish

All I wanted was experience
I know i needed it

Got to answer some questions

Life is throwing me
Everytime i meet your face
I don't want to have an empty pocket..

I want to answer all your needs

Answer it with half lies cause i know i can't relate

But I feel the pain.. i promise..
Now got my wish and your said pain..
Man! it's so bad and so sweet.

Come join me

I can give you better advice now... better comfort..
.
I now know how to burn some candles and appreciate it's light..
I learned to cry and feel alive

"I can sit with my sorrow and yours too if you allow me..

We can go somewhere where
hearts are broken but sturdier and life is about living."

Exhausting, but worth it

What a Weekend...

After work last Friday, Me & my co-workers went to a resort to have a Days' worth of fun in the sun as we celebrated being part of the Top 3 teams in the office for the past month. Some of my friends wouldn't believe --- so can I. But hey, we were THERE.. TOP THREE.

No sleep and all.. Tired, Exhausted & Bodies eagerly looking for a comfortable spot in the rooms we got. That would have been the thing you'd expect. BUT, it was the other way around. It seemed like the guys there were well rested & all went to enjoy the day. Wow, everybody was having fun! After 8 hours or so of fun, we were on our way home...

As we were heading home, that was the time I felt giddy and heard Mr. Sandman whispering in my ear.. now my eyes were at it.

Battling exhaustion, wobbly knees (Man, you're old!) & all others., I still had one more mission.

Off to the bookstore I went. And how thankful I am that the line wasn't that long. I was there barely ten minutes. Now I truly am going home and off to bed...

Ahhh... off to bed, with my Half-Blood Prince held in my hands...

What a weekend.

Silly Time

What is NEUROFIBROMATOSIS?

Funny.. I've been acting dumb for the past hour and a half. I went to work ready to fulfill my planned activities after having a day off work. When suddenly... BAM! The team was bombarded with hot calls.. . Gone was my plan to finish
loads of stuff TODAY.

Er... What is NEUROFIBROMATOSIS? I am beginning to be nonsensical...

Pardon...

"A FEW DUMB MEN"

"Here we go again. The dumb politicians are once more holding the whole nation hostage. In the past several days, several self-glorifying politicians are again posturing at the expense of the Filipino people. This time their excuse is the truth.

Exactly what truth are you trying to find out, sirs? If you think the President has committed an offense, then please file the appropriate actions and shut up! Stop holding press conferences or appearing on television to air your grievances because the media is not the proper forum for it. Being members of the law-making body, you're supposed to use the legal framework that Congress itself has created. You should be the first to follow the law.

The trouble with these politicians and those calling for a leadership
change is that they don't know their action is bleeding the country
dry. MGA BOBO KASI. They are not only insensitive, they are ignorant
of the sufferings of ordinary men like me.

I bet my last pair of socks that you guys, don't
even know the simplest needs of the common tao. Or that you and your
fellow useless politicians are so stupid to know that your calls for
GMA's resignation is, in fact, the reason why the stock market is
down and the exchange rate up. Heck, I seriously doubt you can
stipulate the effects of a fluctuating peso, let alone know what a
Moody's "downgrade" is. MGA BOBO KASI.

I challenge you "SIRS" to take a one-year leave of
absence from Congress to take a job in the private sector and
live-off the salary of a daily wage earner. I can guarantee all of you: you will not last 30 days before calling it quits!

Now, if you're not willing to come out of your comfort zone, then I
challenge you to a debate---- to prove to our countrymen that you're
all stupid. Don't be intimidated: I am just an ordinary workingman
and not connected to any group that can tutor me about policy issues.

It's easy for you to hostage the economy because you know your
congressman's salary is assured for the next three years. I challenge
you to stop living off the taxes of the Filipino people or the tithes
and offerings of your members!

The other night Susan Roces' apo declared to the media that what his
lola is doing will benefit the Filipino people. Are you nuts? what do
you know about our plight here in the Philippines? What do you know
about the effects your lola's speech will have on the economy? You're
living in the U.S.A. for Pete's sake! Before you open your mouth, try
living here first and enroll at a public school with insufficient
number of books!

It's so unfair that a few dumb politicians and reckless individuals
have the power to bring down the whole country. Doubly unfair that
people like me suffer for the stupid decisions made by the horde of
uneducated people in Manila.

I studied hard--heck, WORKED HARD in college
to be where I am now. I pity the employees of foreign-owned companies
like me, who are now in danger of losing their jobs because of the
uncertainty now besetting the nation.

The Filipino people deserve better. Kung hindi pa niyo nalalaman,
tapos na po ang election. It's time to move on. Congress has better
things to do than to meddle in governance. Congress and the Arroyo
administration must work together to cut the deficit now, keep the
exchange rate stable and the inflation rate in check.

I do not aspire to run for Congress or lead a congregation and live
off the tithes and offerings of flocks. I just want to live a
comfortable, if not decent life.

Truth has no profound meaning for me if I lose my job and sleep with
an empty stomach. "

GRIMACE, Anyone?

hahahaha!

* * *

"Grimace is a big, loving, fuzzy purple fellow who is Ronald McDonald's best friend. He's sure Ronald is the world's ultimate authority on everything. While Grimace loves all McDonald's foods, he's absolutely crazy about milkshakes. Grimace is very enthusiastic and eager to try new things.

His joyous spirit helps everyone overlook the fact he's a little slow and clumsy sometimes."

Ows?

"Between Hamburglar (who stole burgers), the Fry kids (who stole fries), and Grimace, crime was running rampant in the 'McHood."

Isa siyang kamote.

"He's a potato."
Uh... okay! Whatever....

Wow, I know how to speak English

A chromosome (in Greek chroma = colour and soma = body) is, minimally, a very long, continuous piece of DNA, which contains many genes, regulatory elements and other intervening nucleotide sequences. In the chromosomes of eukaryotes, the uncondensed DNA exists in a quasi-ordered structure inside the nucleus, where it wraps around histones, and where this composite material is called chromatin. During mitosis (cell division), the chromosomes are condensed and called metaphasic chromosomes. This is the only natural context in which individual chromosomes are visible with an optical microscope. Prokaryotes do not possess histones or nuclei. In its relaxed state, the DNA can be accessed for transcription, regulation, and replication. Chromosomes were first observed by Karl Wilhelm von Nägeli in 1842 and their behavior later described in detail by Walther Flemming in 1882. In 1910, Thomas Hunt Morgan proved that chromosomes are the carriers of genes.
